Susana Donofry
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and specialize in prescribing medication for ADHD. Currently, I only treat ADHD in adults. My practice is video-based, and will operate as long as the DEA continues to extend the telemedicine flexibility. I do not accept insurance. I accept cash payment at time of service.
I do not accept all patients. I will only treat ADHD if you are at least 25 years old. I will not treat patients who have a personal history of addiction or a family history of bipolar. I am only available for appointments 2 days per month, so plan accordingly. I require appointments every 3 months for stimulant prescriptions. Occasionally, I will require random urine drug screens. If your insurance allows 90-day supplies, I’m okay prescribing that.
I have 3 degrees: (1) a doctorate of psychiatric nursing practice from Montana State University; (2) a masters of education in community counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks; (3) and a bachelors of science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.
If finances are tight….once we figure out an accurate diagnosis and the best medication, I have no problem helping connect you with someone in the community that accepts your insurance. I understand that paying $499 every visit can feel burdensome. My fee includes the visit (w/ note), easy access to me via my personal cell, and help with any prior auths and record requests.
The reason I don’t work with insurance companies (and don’t provide a superbill) is because I want more time on my hands to do other things. I don’t want to spend time billing insurance companies, resolving billing issues, or preparing documents for audits. I don’t want to be constrained by insurance company rules in my documentation. I want to do what I love and cut out the rest.
